I and my wife Isobel have had our house in Rhossili since 2016 and have lived here, as our permanent residence, since 2021.
I was co-opted to the Community Council in April this early, and was privileged to be elected chair at the AGM the following month.
I am a trustee of Pitton Methodist Chapel, and a Trustee for the Swansea and Gower Methodist Circuit. I am a member of the Lleisiau Gŵyr Choir, and am involved in a number of local community projects.
I am a semi-retired public servant with my last full-time role being Chief Executive of Flintshire County Council in North Wales. I have extensive experience in local government, governance and finance, political and community engagement, partnerships, and project management which I hope will be of some value to the community in this role.

I served as Chair to Rhossili Community Council from May 2022-25 and in that role, I was proud to serve the village community where my family have lived for 300 years. I’m pleased to continue to serve as councillor.
I am also a Governor at Knelston Primary School, a role I particularly value.
Our beautiful environment is really important to me and I am keen to see that Rhossili Community’s future is successful, safe and sustainable.

I live in Pitton with my husband and daughter and too many pets. I retired from the day job (healthcare research and education) in 2018. Finally with more time on my hands, I joined the WI and Lleisiau Gŵyr (Gower Voices) and Reynoldston & District Gardening Club. Being part of the Covid support group and then the Hwb project also kept me out of mischief. As a councillor, I’m keen for people to have a voice and for them to be involved in community decisions, and in promoting the importance of biodiversity in our beautiful environment.

I live with my husband Paul on School Lane in Middleton. My first footsteps on Gower were when I was two years old, staying in the caravan on the Tuckers farm in Horton. My mother packed me off in the morning to toddle to the farm to collect the milk in our jug. That became our annual holiday until my parents bought their retirement home in School Lane in 1969. That home is now our home.
I have concerns for the environment as do many, but I would like to ensure to do my best for Rhossili and its wonderful natural environment.

I am a retired Headteacher and Churchill Fellow, with connections to Gower since 1957 and the joint owner of some historic fields in The Vile which we have been trying to preserve in a similar state to the old Hay Meadows. I’m a member of The Gower Commoners and one of the founding members of National Coastwatch Worms Head from 2006, as well as being Deputy Station Manager and a Training Officer. I have huge respect for the contribution that generations of people have made to make “our” patch of Gower the beautiful and bountiful place it is and want to use my own talents in the service of the community to preserve and conserve what should be and to help towards developing resilience in the face of the huge pressures that the future may hold.

Due to a recent Councillor resignation, the following Notice of Vacancy has been made available. Should sufficient members of the Rhossili community request an election for the vacancy, then these will be held in due course. If no election is requested then the Community Council will be free to co-opt to fill this vacancy.

I am delighted to have become Clerk to the RCC: it’s definitely keeping me on my toes and busy. Nigel, my dogs and I moved here in June 2025 from West Oxfordshire. We are both semi-retired, but we worked together running a dog grooming salon and small training school delivering City & Guilds training and qualifications to adult learners. Prior to 2011 I worked in the publishing industry, sales and marketing, medical and surgical books and journals, and did so since the early 80s. An early memory in publishing was meeting Harold Macmillan at his 90th birthday party given by the Company. My lifelong interest has been dogs of various breeds and we are thoroughly enjoying life here on Gower with Esme a Giant Schnauzer and Calypso a Portuguese Water Dog.
