About Rhossili Community Council

About RCC

Rhossili Community Council (RCC) is a small council set in a rural farming community. It consists of a number of residents who have been elected by the community to work on its behalf along with a Council Clerk and (at the moment) an Acting Responsible Finance Officer. We have a small budget and don’t have any designated offices.

The Council’s long-term vision is: To help create and support an inclusive, safe, healthy community, promoting long-term vitality and renewal of the village in a way that also celebrates and values our heritage.

Celebrating our heritage and helping to create a sustainable future

Our heritage includes our agricultural history, culture and traditions, built environment and natural environment.

A sustainable future recognises the vital components of a ‘healthy village’:  its resident population, economy, housing, transport and natural environment along with access to adequate healthcare, education and physical/leisure activities.

Community Council meetings are usually held on the:

Second Tuesday of each month at 7:15pm
in Rhossili Village Hall, Middleton, Rhossili.

We don’t usually hold a meeting during August.

Joining online
The Council adopts a hybrid approach to meetings, with a mix of face to face and online attendance via Zoom.  Members of the community are very welcome at these meetings, either in person at the Village Hall or via Zoom.

If you would like to join online, you should download the free ZOOM software first. Clicking on this Zoom link should take you to the meeting ‘waiting room’ where you should wait to be admitted (Meeting ID: 807 432 6675; Passcode: Rhossili).

Extra meetings may occur from time to time and these are publicised on this website, on the village notice boards and on our social media sites. All residents are welcome to attend our meetings.

“There are 735 community and town councils in Wales, representing this tier of government closest to the people. They cover approximately 94% of the land area and 70% of the population of Wales.

The communities they serve range from small rural settlements to large towns and their budgets vary accordingly.  However, what they all have in common is serving their communities and acting to improve the quality of life in their locality… They are recognised as having a role in providing the voice of the citizen in the development and delivery of public services in Wales.”
