At its February Council meeting, Chair Ian Button announced that the Council would be formally adopting the Rhossili Community Hwb at the end of the month and will support ongoing hosting. The Hwb project has been funded by Swansea Council’s Rural Development Partnership and that funding finished on Febrary 28th. Ian asked that a small sub-group of the Council should continue to manage the Hwb site, along with other members of the existing Hwb team. An Advisory Network is also being established to provide independent advice.
The Hwb Ideas workshop on February 27th provided an opportunity to reflect on the Hwb’s achievements so far and to outline future plans. Ian spoke again at this meeting, noting the collaborative effort between RCC and RVH and thanking the Hwb team and all the volunteers who have contributed to this valuable community resouce.
One key aspect of the Hwb going forward is the Vocaleyes platform that was introduced at the workshop. Ian outlined how RCC is also learning about Vocaleyes and sees it as a potentially powerful tool to help us understand what people want from the community and what they would be willing to help RCC achieve for the community.
