We all had major concerns over the number of uncontrolled fires on the downs and surrounding areas over the late winter and spring months. This graphic is kindly produced by Llanridian Lower Community Council. The statutory bodies and local partners are keeping the situation under review and are supporting landowners to access the right permissions for controlled burns during the permitted season. There is also intelligence that some fires were as a result of arson. A review of firebreaks is part of the work. Burns without permission, and out of season, such as now, are illegal.
