We all know that planning can be a sensitive issue.
Last year the Community Council published a simple advisory ‘protocol’ on the Planning section of the website on how best to work with the community when considering making a planning application for your home or business.

We are aware of several planning applications which have been made in recent months where there does not appear to have been full engagement with neighbours and nearby properties by the applicant. We strongly encourage early informal engagement, well before an application is put in, and full use of the City and County of Swansea (the planning authority) pre-planning advisory service for the bigger and more complex applications.
Following this advice will help keep up good community relationships, and can help the applicant to avoid disappointment if their application is refused by the planning authority – perhaps because of local objections from within the community. Please do look up the protocol on our website. It is in everyone’s interests that we work together as a small community.
