Every Community or Town council has a statutory duty under Section 6 of the Environment Act (2016) to embed the consideration of biodiversity and ecosystems (i.e. nature and the environment) into our thinking, planning, policy development and projects. We also have a duty to publish a report that sets out our 3-year plan for how we do this. This report then has to be reviewed on an annual basis – and that review also has to be published online.
